1) Celebration of birth anniversary of Dr. S. R. Ranganathan:

Ranganathan, in full Shiyali Ramamrita Ranganathan, (born August 9, 1892, Shiyali, Madras, India—died September 27, 1972, Bangalore, Mysore), Indian librarian and educator who was considered the father of library science in India and whose contributions had worldwide influence.

National Librarians' Day is observed on 12th August every year to commemorate the birth anniversary of Padmashri Dr S. R. Ranganathan (1892-1972), who was considered as father of library science in India. Dr. Ranganathan dedicated his entire life to library profession in India leaving a rich legacy.

The college library celebrates the birth anniversary of Dr.S.R. Ranganathan, every year with the following aims and objectives:

Objectives:
1) Every year 12th of August, the birthday day of Dr. S.R. Ranganathan, the Father of Library science in India, is celebrated as the 'Librarian's day' with the aim to promote the use of libraries.

2) S. R. Ranganathan's Birthday was on 9th August. But Ranganathan was joined School on 12th of August. That's why we are celebrating Librarians Day on 12th august.

3) Birthday of Padmashri to Dr. S.R. Ranganathan celebrated for his valuable contributions to Library Science.

4) August 12th is being celebrated as National Librarian’s Day in India, in remembrance of national Professor of library science, Dr. S. R. Ranganathan (1892-1972), who had spearheaded library development in India.

2) Library books exhibition:
The Library organizes book exhibition every year to inculcate reading habits and develop quality collection in library book exhibition is organized. The students and staff members visit the exhibition and recommend books. The books selected by students are subject to approval of head and subject experts.

3) Vachan Prerana Din-
The library celebrates Vachan Prerana Din in memory of Late Dr A.P.J. Kalam on 15th October. To enhance reading habits, activities like college faculty talk are organized for students.

The college library celebrate the birth anniversary of Dr. A. P. J. Abdul Kalam, as “Vachan Prerana Din “every year with the following aims and objectives:

Objective:
1) Vachan Prerna Divas’ or Reading Day was celebrated on 15th October, to pay homage to our former President Dr. APJ Abdul Kalam who loved reading and writing.
2) Vachan Prerna Divas’celebrated on Oct 15 to ‘Promote book reading on Dr Kalam’s birth anniversary.
3) The technology and gadgets have almost taken over the habit of reading, so the government has urged educational institutions to develop ideas and programmes to, cultivate the habit of reading among youngsters. So, Vachan Prerana din is to celebrated.
4) The department of higher and technical education has mooted the plan to observe ‘No gadget day’ once a month, wherein students are urged not to use any form of social media platforms, such as Facebook, Twitter, and instead, read books. So, Vachan Prerana din is to celebrated.
5) To know the students about importance of books.

4) Workshop/Guest Lectures: 1. Workshop on Intellectual Property Rights
2. Hormonious interaction with students on use of ICT and reference books in teaching learning process.

Aims and objectives:
1) One of the main aims of ICT is to help students to become competent and confident users who can Use the basic knowledge and skills acquired to assist them in their daily lives.
2) To prepare students for the world of tomorrow.
3) To help learners to have an open and flexible mind.
4) To help students to adjust to the inevitable future changes.
5) To integrate ICT across the curriculum.
6) To introduce to basic modeling and software applications to create appreciation of technology in everyday life.
7) ICT aims to assist students to grow personally by facilitating different methods of learning.
8) To acquire the knowledge of Distance-learning program to get degrees those students would not have been able to receive without ICT.
9) To allow the students to easily access the necessary information over the Internet.
10. Awareness of E-resources and accessing it.
